OUCH!!! Yeah, you dented it alright PDR should be able to take care of that...although I don't know if a long dent like that would be easy for them to fix, as compared to a dimple style dent (door ding)...but hey, not trying to get you worried..I'm sure it will work out fine and you'll be happy with the job they perform

that is a terrible place for a dent. The hood on the MINI, if you havent seen is 2 sheets welded together, Getting to that dent would be very tough. And as for the dent popper thing, its worth a shot. They cost like $20 and its possible to pop that with the popper. Having someone get in there and work it out, i dont think will be very cheap at all. course, im not a bodyshop guy, just my amature exp talking here.

My op. TRY a dent popper. if that doesnt work, you lost $20...if it does, you save a lot.

On the plus side, be lucky that it didn't land on your head!

NO..oooOO! the whole shelf next to my car in the garage collapsed. Now I got 1/2" dent on the rear panel driver side. How long does it take to repair the dent with dent wizard?

Well I had a guy similar to them tell me my location of the dent was a problem. He couldn't massage it out from under neath. He tried the yanking method from on top and its 50% better. Charged me $30 for not being totally successful.

Since that one large dent has a crease in the dent. It going to be very very hard to get it out. You will most likely have to have body work done to get it to look good as new. Creases are very hard to get out and even if you do get them out, they can still be visable.

If there's a sharp crease chances are the paint is going to crack when they
push it out. They will let you know beforehand if they can fix it or not.
You have the option to get it fixed to the best of their ability, or
just take it to a bodyshop. They will first heat the panel if they see a
crease.

Typically a small ding can be fixed within 10-15min. It really depends on the
accessiblity of the ding inside the panel. some could take as much as
an hour if they need to pull it out from the outside.

It is just me that use back up straps in the garage so that if the shelf, etc
fails, it would not land on the car?

Today I had three dents - driver's door (small), hood (small) and a nasty crease on the passenger side rear panel (2" long crease) - removed by Dent Pro here in the (East) Bay Area.

The first two went quick, for the third, they had to jack up the rear and go in under the wheel well. He spent about 40 minutes on the last one - and removed all traces of it. The best $150 bucks I've spent in a long time.

If you live in the SF Bay Area, I can't recommend these guys enough. Big props to Ryan (the tech who performed the work). I will definately use them again.

I guess I'll be going to dentpro too. I haven't seen our 3 month old Mini yet but my wife parked the SUV next to the Mini and instead of "gently" opening the door when getting out of the SUV, my son "threw" it open leaving a dent the size of a quarter about 1/4" deep right above the door handles of the MCS! I guess it could be worse. Dentpro guy gave me a phone estimate of about $90 - $130.
