R50/53 Very Bad People
Mike is our hero!...If he hadn't chased them down like the uber BAd @ss he is the idiots may never have been found. not too mention all the other stolen goods they had. You'd think the cops would pardon those speeding tickets, but nooooo.
I also feel your pain I have a total piece of junk 2002 Hyundai Accent and some itiot tried to pop the door lock and totally jacked my handle, couldn't get in so they smashed the small rear window. Total cost to repair everything would have been around $750, I didn't get any of it fixed for fear it would just happen again. And what did they get? around .08! Took everything out of the glovebox and the cubbies in the car, but only took the change in my ashtray. Best part was my Sinatra box set was taken out of the map pocket on the seat, but they didn't take it!
Kinda helps pin down the demographics of the would-be thieves, doesn't it?

This is why I think it should be legal to booby-trap your car, with appropriate warning labels for the authorities. The sticker should scare them off, but if not, they choose to trade their life for an attempt at my stuff.
Until the penalties hurt really bad, these twits will never stop. You may think "stuff" is not worth a human life. I argue that the theif decides what his life is worth when he decides to commit a crime.
I loved the anti-carjacking bar described in a prior post in South Africa.

To wit, our erstwhile carjacker gets the car, the doors lock as the windows rise, and the computerized voice begins the countdown..
