According to www.motoringfile.com it appears to be that MINI will be offering a special edition 2006 MINI that can be ordered with a Pure Silver metallic contrasting roof. However, no word on color changes, deletions or additions, yet.

Remember that 2006 marks the end of production for the current R50 Cooper and R53 Cooper S. The all new 2007 MINI is set to debut in the fall of 2006, or in a little less than a year and a half from now.

indeed, I was hopin they'd have a cool lineup of colours for the end of the gen.
No it's not personally, it's a little too pastel for me. I ride a yellow 600rr that's the level I'm thinkin of, it's the honda S2000 yellow, or like the new mustang yellow, or gto yellow, EVO yellow you get the drift. Just a little too pastel for me.

The LY in the MINI is a beautiful color, but in the eyes of some, it tends to look pale. Some prefer the brighter yellows found in cars such as the Honda S2000 or the Lotus Elise.

uh, if they really do go through with JCW as a factory option, and the recaro seats, AND the silver contrasting roof, I'm totally going to trade my mini in for an '06

I agree with Suki. LY just isn't bright enough. By choice, I'd have burnt metallic tangerine, or International Distress Orange, but I'd settle for a REALLY bright yellow.

I would not buy a Solid Gold Cooper for myself, but this color actually looks very nice in the convertible model.

However, I find it puzzling as to why MINI keeps offering this color when it seems to be largely unpopular. I am seeing more Solid Gold MINIs around Miami than ever before.

I seriously considered gold. I though it was a very unique and rare color. But the more I thought about it, I just wasn't sure I could live with it every day...

What I was waiting for was Hot Orange in a hardtop. Alas, I settled for Hyper Blue...

Well I saw the promotional picture MINI posted on BMW World and both my wife and I were taken by the bright color. So now I have one of the few Solid Gold MINI's that have been sold in my area. I have the Aero kit so my car really stands out. So my uniqueness is up there.

I got the black octagon cloth interiour.

It really does have a great "BLING" factor espeacially if you have the chrome grills.

Vey nice, Aquasar! I never seen the Aero Kit fitted with the chrome grille and the lower bumper slat before. Most owners that opt for the Aero Kit get the honey comb black grille.

Gorgeous car all around!

Thank you Cooper4us,

When I was specing the car out someone mentioned that they could be retained. I am very glad that I kept them because on the Gold it definetly makes a statement. The dealer said it took a little more time to put the lower slat back since the mounting holes were changed by the new front end.

Auric, the 24k bulldog. Nice looking MC. . .

"Top notch, top notch!!"
Great name, too - now if they just made a copper colored one, you could call it Moneypenny!

Nope (though it's still nice - I pass by one every day going to work.) Owning a sunburst Miata, I may be biased.
In the latest 'Counterfeit MINI' brochure in AutoWeek, they show a yellow MINI on the inside that's a GREAT, bright yellow. Me likee.

Haven't seen anything about new colors other than the roof thing - they'll probably wait until '07, though a special color would be a good way to make a 'collectable' '06.
