Was there or was there not a forum here that discussed the future Minis?
Am I missing something?

I'm at the point where I need to make a decision. Jump in this year or wait till this next variant comes out...

In reading Motor Trend, one article mentioned how the rear suspension will no longer be independent in an effort to "reduce cost". But, they said the trademark handling of the Mini will still be there...

Any suggestions/ insight???

I've got to make a "wise" decision here...

 

If that terrible news about the suspension doesn't persuade you to order a car now, I don't know what would. It's funny, they pound their chest so much about that suspension in the '02-'03 MINI brochure, and now they've suddenly found it to be expendable. Sad.

 

IMO, wait till the 07 comes out, drops the resale a tad on the 1st gen MINI and buy an 04, install rear fogs for a proper full toggle bank, be happy you dont have a black piece of plastic filling a hole where the backup light was, satisfied that the yo-yo and surge was worked out along with the rattles and just drive around happy that you have the best model year of MINI made, laughing as the 07 can't keep up through the twisties because of no independent rear suspension
