R50/53 Reusable RUN FLATS & 19" Spinners
Reusable RUN FLATS & 19" Spinners
This morning I took my MINI over a RR Xng at 80 mph. Blew out both front runflat tires. After removing the tires and wheels, I walked to the nearest tire store and told them of my problem.
The nice lady behind the counter told me NO PROBLEM. All we have to do is put 19" spinner wheels on my old runflats since the inside diameter of the tires increased after my incident.
After putting the 19" spinners on the old run flats, the rear run flats were moved to the front and my NEW 19" SPINNERS are on the back with my old run flats - GREAT!!
Happy Day

djindy,
Aloha and welcome to NAM.
80mph + RR crossing = Diasaster
There usually is a RR crossing sign so that you have some warning but if it is dark and you are unfamilar roads it could be trouble.
Even a small highway joiner strip or seam gives my lowered MCS a very hard time and I have non runflats. Feels like I've jumped a curb at highway speed.
When in doubt, slow down or like a speeding ticket you'll have to pay the price in time or $$$ to correct the error. YUK
Can you post pictures????
Are you saying you reused your blown out runflats from the front by mounting them on 19" rims that are spinners and you took your stock MINI wheels from the rear and moved them to the front?
If so you might check with Alex@tirerack.com to see if that is safe to do. I would think that a blown out tire would be unsafe.

) any other ideas folks??!??
