Mini Rentals?

Do any of the car rental agencies rent Minis? I'd like to "live" with one for a week to decide if it's the right vehicle for me.

you may want to look in the "exotic" or "luxury" section of car rentals. Because MINI is an import, many of the chain rental places do not carry MINIs.

Found one that has a convertable: http://www.nycexoticcarrentals.com

I have also seen Hertz selling used ones in AutoTrader, so you might call around to ask. Anyone have any more info on this?

I agree that just one test drive really isn't enought to tell you if a car is for you. I test drove an Infiniti G35 when they first came out and loved it. But I thought I would keep my car a bit longer, save my pennies, and maybe pick up one in the used car market. As it turns out, I got a chance to drive a G35 from Enterprise for a week, while on vacation. Little annoyances started popping up that I didn't notice before. Even though I still think the coupe is currently one of the sexiest cars available, in the end, I decided against getting one.

Yes, several "independent" speciality/luxury car rental places usually carry MINIs in their inventory. Renting a MINI is typically more expensive than your everyday Chevy Malibu, but it is sure a good way to get "acquinted" with the vehicle in a more intimate way and see if the car is indeed for you.

Which model are you renting? MC/MCS Hardtop or convertible?

Do a google search to find these speciality rental places.
