My production number has seven digits, but I'm wondering if anyone has learned if there is any connection to this number and the build number?

I'm aware MINI's have passed the 500,000 mark and suppose we're into 600,000? My production number starts with 672XXXX

I've searched both NAM and MINI2 and no definitive answers found.

Anyone else wondered the same or found the answer?

Production #'s have nothing to do with the build cycle. My '05 was a september build and the # was 74609xx. Hope this helps...

Thanks for the reply - I can see using the production number and it having no relation to the build number, but wonder, since the 500,000th was clear and all are tracked, why we can't know if we were 551,324 or .... Some marques have a cardex, or file of originial equipment, and it usually has that piece of information. Oh well, it's only a detail - thanks again! Scott
