R50/53 Dealers and Estimated delivery date

My est delivery date is 12/18. WOO HOO. Do dealers typically call a day or so before or do they call on the delivery date, if your vehicle is there and ready? What has everyone's experience with this been? I guess I'm wondering if they give you a heads up or what. I'm hoping to get my MINI next weekend, or earlier!!???? I certainly hope!!
