Right on Brother, Amen, word, etc. If you dig a little on NAM (formerly MCO) you'd see that I've been begging Mini for a real BRG for years now. I could live with a reasonable range of hues/tones - from Bentley to Jag to Lotus and beyond - but for the love of God make it non-metallic!!

I agree with you - I didn't consider the met. green (just not my thing, nothing against it) but if the mini came in a flat BRG I would have considered it. I guess I should be grateful though, I had enough trouble deciding as it was - going from Chili to Pepper to Hyper For me the interior choices really made a big difference in decision. At first I was set on the Tartan red but then after finally finding one at a dealer I decided the fabric was not my thing. I was impressed with the thick feel, texture and resiliance of the leather though (and have seen it wear just fine in an 03), so when I saw the lapis in HB I knew what I wanted

I agree with everyone saying you really should see the car colors in person though - it makes a huge difference. I was really satisfied with my color choice after seeing it on a sunny and an overcast day.

Now Kyle, keep in mind this is just my opinion...I am a girl and have a Cool Blue Cabrio, navy top, white bonnet stripes, checkered flag mirror covers, you get the idea. Of course my husband LOVES my car, but whenever he drives it something funny happens. Most recently a lady coming out of the grocery store said to him, "That is a cute...I mean nice car".

Also he was driving the car and a co-worker saw him and said, "That's the wife's new car right?"

I guess it all depends what you are panning on doing with the exterior mods, maybe black stripes would look more masculine? And in addition to that as long as you are a secure male you should be okay with the cool blue, it is a GREAT and unique color. I also love the orange but was also afriad I would tire of it.

Best of luck!

That's exactly what I'm worried about.

Now I love my cool blue, but Kyle if you get the orange it is going to be so HOT you won't tire of it! I mean I know that is a concern, but like you said earlier it is a MINI Cooper for crying out loud it is your chance to get a "real" color. Every single car I owned before my MCSC was silver, now the MINI's look great in Silver for all those silver owners out there, but getting a MINI was my excuse to walk a little on the wild side.

PLUS only those 2 colors come on the Cabrio so that makes you even more unique.
You GO Kyle!

I have the cool blue with black stripes with a white border. I think the color suits both males and females. I think sometimes we allow others to dictate what a color means and then it becomes a self-fullfilling prophecy. If you like the color I say go for it. Some people go so far as to say the Cabrio is a female car. Needless to say I dissagree.

Oh, trust me...I've heard that over a hundred times already. While it is a "cute" car, I don't think it's a girl's car at all.

This kid at school saw me reading my MINI convertible brochure, and he goes, "dude, are you really buying a convertible beetle?"

Now call me crazy, but the MINI is very boxy, the beetle is completely round. Where is the resemblence?

BTW

I got a picture of the cool blue that I thought was fairly accurate, and took it to school with me.

I showed a ton of people, guys and girls...and the general consensus was that it was NOT a chick color.

Having said that, I think I'm going to go with the Cool blue/black roof, black/grey upholstery, cool blue interior trim, and black racing stripes.

I think it's gonna look pretty hot

P.S...I got an e-mail from my salesman today. He said to expect an April delivery if I order my car this month...not too long. I'm placing my order in March, so I'm expecting to take delivery in late May.

You need to see he color in person. The picture posted here looks pretty accurate in terms of color, but the metallic undertone doesn't come through. It actually looks much better - this is a handsome color, augment it with black perhaps...

I saw the color in person on Sunday...loved it. I did see a bit of pink in it though, but I think the black top and black bonnet stripes will beef up the look a bit.

Cool Blue is really cool. We have a Cool Blue C (black top - which makes some difference in the reflection of the car) and a Dark Silver CS (also with black top which makes the car look classy yet fun !!)

Often, depends on the weather and the light the Cool Blue appears almost Gray/Silver.. It is a really a neat color .. I don't care for Orange - Blue top on Hot Orange... ??? I saw a nice very nice Green on Green with beige leather interior .. Very cool !! and no a Mini is NOT CUTE. is COOOOL
a poppy is cute .. not a MINI
