R50/53 Blipping/Hiccup Under Acceleration Issue???
Blipping/Hiccup Under Acceleration Issue???
So for many of you that have been following my build I recently installed a few goodies on my car: 380cc injectors, 15% Alta sc pulley and a Detroit tuned bypass valve. I had the finalized tune done by Adrian this morning and it revs smoothly and starts up really crisp. Now I noticed anywhere in the low 2k all the way to 3k rpm’s does the car hiccup and blip and it almost “skips a beat”.
I have already gone through most common issues that would have these symptoms such as the belt tensioner/belt. I checked my tensioner and it’s not bouncing at all. Staying still. I also installed a gates K060535 belt to accommodate the pulley reduction size. I even felt that the gates belt is too short and went even shorter with a gates K060530. It was super tight but still managed to install and it kinda helped. Majority of the blipping went away but there’s still some there. So I guess the belt was actually an issue ontop of this current blipping issue.
Adrian checked my boost levels to see if I have any leaks and he said I have neither vacuum nor boost leaks. Now, the shop that did my clutch broke the black supercharger inlet tube snout that inserts into the bypass valve and used some cement/glue to put it back on. I’m afraid that there’s the TINIEST leak there and it’s causing this issue. But again I’m not sure and I feel if it was indeed leaking, if it was a big leak I would’ve gotten a code but if it was a small leak surely it wouldn’t cause this blipping issue and also not throw a code up??
I’m planning to put the car in front end service mode to do a smoke down test and find if there’s any air leaks.
Adrian suggested that the plugs I used were fake NGK plugs. Now that he brought it up, I remember I ordered those plugs from eBay and I’m sure it was from China and are actually fake. So I ordered a set of genuine NGK from ALLMAGAUTO.
That is where I’m at. What do you guys think is blipping issue is? Could it be fuel related or is it air related or is it my spark? Someone suggested on Facebook that my coil pack could be faulty but I believe if it was I would have been getting a misfire which I’m not getting any.
Thanks for your guys help!

Hello.
There is a flat spot in the tune file around 2800 rpm, we see it on dyno runs and you can physically see it in the HP line. The black tube would give you a vacuum or boost leak and cause an issue that way. it would really help to know better what the blipping issues is or how it happens.
and our NGK plugs are a lot less expensive and a better plug than the ones you got. https://www.detroittuned.com/ngk-spa...arch_query=ngk

Do you mean that the tune file is improper or that the cause of the flat spot in the tune file around 2800 is due to the black tube? Also, do the spark plugs hold any affect on the blipping issue?
