R50/53 buzz near left rear tire
buzz near left rear tire
I was driving around today in Chicago with my windows fully down for one of the first times since I picked up my car today and I noticed a light buzzing sound coming from my left rear. I can't pinpoint the location, but I was wondering if anyone experienced something similar. I only hear it when i'm going at a slow speed, say 10-15 miles an hour, I also only really hear it when i'm passing a parked car.
I also washed the car today and took a look around. In the left rear well, where I think the sound was coming from, there was a bit of extra/melted plastic hanging around. I picked it off since definitely was an overhang and nothing essential. I'm guessing it's from that, but i'm not sure. Is this lil melted plastic anything to be worried about?

check the tire thats making the sound for any pebbles or anything thats stuck in the tread. i'm guessing since you since you said you picked up ur car recently, ur tires have a good amount of tread, so somethin might have just got caught in there. it happened to me all the time (until i burned off almost all the tread
). as for the hangin metal, i have no clue

hm... possible, but it doesn't sound consistent enough to be a pebble or anything. It seems to be something that vibrates only when i'm going a certain speed or something, I think it was the hanging plastic, I'll try to find out today, i'll also look for the pebble, thanks for the help
as for the hanging plastic, it seems like just excess when they molded it or something. guess i'll just have to take a closer look at it some other time, when i finished cleaning my car the other day it was already too dark to see much.

mataku- you should lift the rear wheel off the ground using your jack and
spin the wheel with your hand to see if you hear it or not. the buzzing
could be from the tire, but could also be coming from under the car.
Im sure you know this, but make sure you put your car in gear before
you lift the rear left wheel off the ground. If you have chocks, use them.

just wanted to give a little update on this. Took it to dealer. they came back saying it's due to uneven thread wear.
whatever, I still have good amount of warranty left, when I get new tires I will take it back.
