Local track construction

Around where I live(The Woodlands, TX), I always find myself thinking "I want to just go out and drive" but "spirited" driving on the street is mostly illegal and dangerous. My friends and I thought it might be cool if there where a local track or drag strip to go to for a small fee. Does anyone know of how to either start something like this or find some company that can? What would the costs of such a thing be? What sort of licenses would I need to get? Basically, if you know anything or anywhere I can find some info about this please tell! Thanks.

Talk to Randy Webb at Webb Motorsports

He tests his products at our local track - Second Creek Raceway near Denver International Airport - which is itself closing. Encroachment by progress (read: Housing Developments) has caused it's demise but.....

There is hope for another raceway here soon. However, what little I know is that it is not somebody but rather the entire motoring community around here - car clubs, enthusiasts, organizations, et al.

Contact him at Randy@WebbMotorsports.com and he will surely will you in...

North of here, in New Hampshire, there is a company selling investments in a track they are planning - maybe a big more "executive" than you would need, but they are looking to raise millions of dollars!

Plus the locals are dead set against it - of course.

Yea, I really got inspired by watching HP tv one day and seeing a sort of home built drag strip, and thought that would be really cool. Ill e-mail randy about this. And thanks for your help thus far.

I really want to find something that is open to the public daily, like a hang out on a sat night.
