Need help on how to perform a smoke test the best way. I tried moving smoke from the purge valve to the charcoal canister and the dust filter started smoking. Is that suppose to smoke or should I replace it. Another question is on the opposite line from the purge valve leading to the driver side of the engine. Smoke came out from the break booster line. Will that cause an evap code?.
this is the dust filter smoke was coming from. Feels like it's supposed to do that because it has holes on the body and the cap is loose and spinning. Doesn't seem sealed by design I would like some insight.
Yes, smoke will come out of the dust filter. Pinch off the line and try again. That brake vacuum booster line could well be an issue. Can you try a temporary repair on it to see if that fixes it?
I replaced my fuel pump a couple of years ago and during that repair, I noticed the top of the pump had a crack in it. I have no idea how I didn't have an evap code from that. That's another place worth checking.
