R50/53 Hesitation on start up
By any chance, does the start-up hesitation only happen when the engine is cold (3h+ since last start) and most frequently when it's raining or at least there is a high humidity outside?
That's the description of my issue, I've done quite a bit of diagnostics already and I've came up empty so far, and I know a few others first gens owner do suffer from that issue, but I've never found any resolution online yet.
As for the fuel filter being super black with residue, I can confirm mine looked like that as well. I don't know why though.

Can’t comment on weather conditions as I’ve only had it a couple months - I don’t think it would have as much of an impact - I know super cold or hot conditions can. Rain possibly - I know the boot seals/hatch itself tend to leak water over time and can get where the battery sits which then causes electrical issues that downstream.
But yes for me it does happen on cold starts after sitting for a while.
So far if I let it prime after hearing the pump it turns over just fine with no hesitation or issue at all.
