2nd mini and counting

i'm curious... how many of us are out there that are actually on our 2nd or more mini? for goodness sakes, aside from the classic mini's, they haven't been around for that long. i thought i was crazy for trading in my 03 mcs for an 05, but i know i'm not alone. i see some of you have done the same. my husband likes to kid that i needed new tires, so i just traded the whole thing in for a new one!

Traded it In?

We are truly on our second Mini. First, a 2004 electric blue "S" with pret' near evr'thin' on it, including sunroof, rally lights, and white stripes.

2nd, a 2005 chili red cabrio "S" JCW, and well, the rest is described in the signature.

I unfortunately totaled my 2003 CR/W Cooper. I replaced it with an almost identical 2003 CR/B Cooper.

I'm on my 2nd MCS now after the 1st one (DS/DS '03) was totalled when someone side-swiped me, dumping us straight into a telegraph pole.
Got a cheque from their insurance & replaced it with an identical DS/DS '04, plus some extra goodies for the original price (even after a price hike).

Oh my!!! I have to ask... are you a MINI dealer? What's your story with so many in such a short time?

Nope, I'm not a MINI dealer. I wish I was though at the rate I'm going through them. Our first 2005 MCS was a lemon. It only lasted just over a week and had a grand total of 186 miles on it before it died. The third 2005 MCS (that is set to arrive into port on Feb 12th) is the replacement for the first one. The 2nd 2005 MCS was a x-mass present for my wife. And... We've been driving a loaner 2003 MCS & a 2002 MCS for the last four or so months while we've been waiting for our replacement MINI to arrive.

I am glad you explained that. I thought maybe you did not realize that the little ash tray could be removed and emptied. You don't have to sell the car when it's full.

What do your neighbors think?

Ha! Yes, that's great...

They all think I'm a fool for buying them. They're convinced that they're not very good cars based on what we've been through so far. At times I have to believe they're right, but then I drive a MINI and it all comes back to me as to why I want one.

GBMINI #2 is what I drive these days ... I first had an MC GBMINI but it was always the plan to upgrade to the MCS - I just could not wait 9 months.

2002 All-Pure Silver MC (took delivery, 8/28/02, drove almost 14K miles)---> 2003 All-Jet Black MCS (ordered 1/13/03 after seeing a Jet Black S and losing my mind over it, took delivery 4/4/03, now at almost 39K miles)

Not sure about when the next one is coming, but I daresay there will be more MINIs in my future!

Okay my friend Pilgrim has the most miles per MINI in the world. I don't drive as much so I'm after the other record....tthe most MINIs per mile!

I am on my FOURTH MINI (02 PS/BL MC, 03 PW/BL MC, 04 PW/PW MCS, 05 DS/WH MCS) of course its five if you count my wife's 03 LY/BL MC! (er, what's in a name?)

(btw, there's a 79 Mini wagon in the garage undergoing resto) That would be my sixth classic.

Do I hear another bidder?

Multi MINI's

We have 03 MCS and 05 MCS due to dock next week, hers and his . If you want to count, we had three classics in the early 80's.
