We went from a big SUV and a Volvo wagon to two Minis and the Volvo wagon. Unless we need to carry a lot of stuff or the kid's stroller, the Mini's are fine. My wife's '04 MC CVT bought in Dec 03 now has 10,000 miles on it and my MCS delivered in November is running equally well.

EEK! Was everyone inside the car OK?
Not at first, 80km/h straight into a pole banged us up pretty good! Lots of cuts & bruises all over our legs from whacking into the dash. Wife had 2 black eyes from the airbag & heavy internal bruising from the seat belt left a lasting impression for a couple of weeks. I had the misfortune of fracturing my left ankle in 3 places, & then even worse, developing a DVT whilst in the plaster! Took 6 months to recover from the DVT. I don't think the leg will ever be like it used to, but happy to say it can still handle a clutch pretty well

I just traded my '03 MCS for an '05. The '05 was almost a twin, in color and accessories, to the '03. I like the upgrades, mainly the few HP and gear ratios. They convinced me that the swap was worth it.

I'm thinking to trade my moded 04 MCS to 05 MCS automatic. Does anyone have done it? I mean trading modified car with the dealer...or sell it private and get the 05?

Two in the Garage

I have two currently, an 04' PW/PW "S" and a 05' Jet Black Open MINI "S". The PW/PW is my daily driver with over 26K miles. We had a PW/PW Cooper that started the ball rolling. Now my wife wants her own Cooper with Automatic.
What I really need is a bigger garage.

We've got an '02 Cooper, an '03 'S', and 3 Classics.

Unless you can revert back the car to stock, I would suggest selling the mods separately whenever possible, unless you find a private sale buyer that wants and recognizes the calue of the mods you have added to the car.

Don't trade in, unless you want to lose your shirt. Why give the dealer thousands in free money? Put the money in your pocket.

Sell it yourself. It is a hassle and takes time but it is worth it when you find the right person to buy the car.
