Clamps Needed For Supercharger Oil Refresh

Hello All,

I've searched and searched our forum yet unable to find specifics on sizes, how many and what hose clamps I need to replace while doing a supercharger oil refresh.

From what I have gathered from my searches there seems to be more accommodating clamps screw style clamps that aid in the ease of reassembly.

I've seen mentioned that thinner style stainless steel screw clamp replacement is preferable and it will make the process much easier when it's time to do it again.

In advance thanks to every here for all you help, you have made R53 ownership so much more enjoyable!

A very happy 20 year owner of 2 2003 R53, one run to 163K and sold, then my current JCW S1232 kit bought with 52K and now at 72K.

Cheers

I don't think you "need" to change the clamps. Most are fully accessible with minimal issue. I would not change unless they are bad.

Yow, I I agree but some of the OEM clamps are difficult to reach and difficult to put back on.

I've seen many folks replacing the OEM clamps on videos and the like with screw type clamps making it easier.

Thank you!

The OE clamps are the best. I mean the black spring loaded style. The silver Oetker clamps are one use. I did this 2 + years ago. I don’t think I replaced more than 2. Look in realoem, and use that as a reference to what you are pulling. It also will depend on who was there before, and how well it was done
