I believe this bolt fell out of my 06 mini cooper 6 while driving today anyone have any idea what it might be from? It is about 6 inches long. It may have just popped of f the road but i don't believe so.

 

upper motor mount. Goes in from below on rail. passenger side.

 

And that one came out easy LMAO.. I had to cut mine off when I replaced my mount.

 

thanks for assistance it was right were you said it would be. Now to get it back in somehow.

 

Make sure you clean it and add some anti-seize. Otherwise, in a few years when you need to remove it to replace the bad motor mount it may give you issues. The last one I fought took me like an hour to get out as it was REALLY stuck and the head was slightly rounded. As mentioned above, some folks have had to cut theirs out.

 

+1 this. Anti-seize is your biggest friend with this and many other parts. And the OE engine mount design is sorely lacking as you likely already know; just installed the 3rd one at 69K; next go-round it's getting one of these:
