2006 r50 won’t turnover

Hi all. My sons car needed a new head gasket but while he was away at school, I just let it sit. I’ve recently installed a new head gasket and put it all back together, new fluids and reinstalled the battery. But now it won’t turn over. No attempt from the starter at all. Any thoughts on where to start to diagnose this thing? Thanks Mark

Make sure you reattached the ground strap on the passenger motor mount bracket.

From: Under the car. As per normal.
suggested batting order
>battery 12.6 V key off, better yet have it tested or replaced
>pull OBD II codes
>check all fuses under hood and footwell
>clutch switch / connector
>any water intrusion if the car sat outside in rain
>'love tap' the starter with a small hammer / metallic object, pull and have tested
