clutch cable question

IF the inside of the cable that connects to the ball end of the transmission pops out of the cable part, does this mean its no good, or can it be fixed?

Got an image to share? Did the internal ball on the end of the shift cable, that attaches to the transmission linkage, break away from the rubber bushing that it was molded into? If so, you need a new cable.

Yeah I can't picture the problem....but it sounds like you're talking about the rubber bushing on the shifter (not clutch) cable ends? If so, would this help? https://www.bushingfix.com/mini-coop...ushing-repair/

yeah that’s the issue. Not sure how good these work, but it’s cheaper than new cable lol.

That fix would be worth trying. Save the expense of a new cable and just as importantly, changing out the cable is a major pain in the rear.

I'll save that link in case I have another cable failure.
