Hello all. Been enjoying the new MCSc, inspite of the weather here in Toledo. I have a question regarding the exterior chrome package. I've noticed that the U.K. cars with this option (mini2.com), have the horizontal chrome strip across the lower air intake, below the bumper. Our car does not have this, though the Mini's on display at the Detroit auto show do have the strip. Anybody know what gives? I'd have thought that the cars at the show would be U.S. spec cars, but maybe not.
BTW, I understand the distaste some have for the exterior chrome, being a long time "chrome hater" myself. But, I love it on this car. It just works IMHO.

I love love love the chrome on my 04 MC... it adds a lot to the look.


I did notice several 05 MC that do NOT have the chrome on the bumper, but I agree... I was at NAIAS and saw that they all DID have it.

If you have an MC with chrome, you should have this piece - but it is not available on the MCS.

Chrome front grille
Chrome mirror caps
Chrome rear hatch handle above license plate

In the MC/MCC:

Chrome mirror caps
Lower bumper chrome strip (Front and rear)
Chrome rings surrounds for the fog lights.
