R50 steptronic steering wheel in a R53 MCS manual

I recently purchased an recovered alcantara 3 spoke R50 steering wheel with auto paddle shifters. I want to swap this wheel and replace my R53 original steering wheel in my manual S.

can I remove the paddles?

will everything else plug n play?

pics are from actual steering wheels being replaced

Remove the angled torx bolts at 3 and 9 o’clock then the paddles and wiring can be removed, but the back side of the steering wheel will have two big recesses that might not look too good.

I received my new steering wheel today. I remove the paddle shifters on the new wheel then removed the old steering wheel from my MCS manual. I got everything put back together with the new wheel in place without the paddle shifters. Now I cannot get the volume controls and the cruise controls to work. There must be something in the wiring harness for the paddle shifters. Update I had to use my old harness out of my original wheel to get it to work.

If anyone can help, please let me know.

These are the R50 Auto wires to the paddle shifters. I have red tape on the two ends. *I had to swap my Original MCS Manual wire harness out of my old wheel to get it to work properly. the Auto harness on the steering wheel does not work with the manual cars.
