Hill Assist?

Should my 2004 Cooper S with DSC also have the "Hill Assist" feature that holds the brakes for 2 to 3 seconds when you move your foot from brake to accelerator? I ask because mine does not seem to do that. Is this a Gen 2 feature and not Gen 1?

Yep, they didn't add that until Gen 2. Hope you're good at holding the car with the handbrake!

Don't need a hand brake. Practice on a hill. Doesn't take long to get.

Yes if you get really good at it you will never think you need assist in the first place. I have been in places like mountains and crazy streets in Pittsburgh on a hill
