Need new seat belt! Anybody got a lead?

Need a driver’s seat belt for my R50. Retractor won’t extend OR retract. Dealer gave me the part number 72117118137, but says they don’t have one anywhere in their system in the US or Germany. Tried Pelican Parts- same story.

Anybody have one, or a good lead? Going to be scouring the internet and calling junkyards when I make it home, but figured it was worth asking here, too.

TIA!

Try Allmagauto in Florida - I’ve had good results with them.

If you google "72117118137 MINI", you will find that seatbelt available new (and discounted) from multiple sources.

And doing the same on eBay shows used ones available as low as $39 including delivery.

That got all kinds of hits... looks like even a few in stock at actual BMW dealers. Thanks!

So I found the part in a few places, but they all say it doesn't work for my car. I got the part number from a dealer, who looked it up based on my VIN, so I assumed it was correct. The one they gave me is WITHOUT a "force limiter."

The part suggested by the parts sites for my car, which I also looked up with my VIN, is 72119147857, which looks the same but comes WITH a force limiter. So now I'm a little confused.

Thinking about just calling one of the places that has it and having someone on the phone verify I'm getting the right part. I don't know what a force limiter is, but sounds useful for a seatbelt...

if you can do without OEM, could go aftermarket:

I ended up finding one at a nearby junkyard via car-part.com. They just got a non-crashed MINI on their site that probably has lots of parts I could use...
