R50/53 Rattle when rolling, coasting, or in neutral.
Rattle when rolling, coasting, or in neutral.
Last week I installed a new passenger side axle, new wheel hub, new lower control arm bushing. In my 04 r53.
I also installed the VT performance dogbone lower mount.
Every thing is great except....
When in neutral or in gear but there is no positive or negative momentum force... there is a speed based rattle under the car.
If I brake it stops...if I accelerate it stops.
Doesn't matter if in 6th gear and coasting at 75 or rolling in neutral at 20mph... the rattle is there.
either the dogbone is not tight enough..
the bolts for the Carrier clearing aren't tight enough... maybe the carrier bearing is bad on the new axle???
or what? I am open to thoughts and ideas..
Thanks all!
I have enjoyed these forums for some time, and I would love some help.

I just replaced my lower amount thinking it was bad though it was going bad the main culprit was the upper mount on the passenger side ( replaced lower and knowticed upper moved freely and was bone dry). Either that or you have a bad balljoint
