What to do while we're in there? Clutch change...
Hey all, first post.
We loaned our '05 Cooper S JCW to friends from Europe for a road trip this week. They called us today about 760mi away in Vegas and said the car was making grinding noises when the clutch pedal was depressed. Then shortly there after they couldn't shift gears. They took it to a shop where it will sit for the weekend. It sounds to me like the throw out bearing has probably given up the ghost, and maybe the clutch as well. Strange thing is there was no warning. Fluid level is fine as well.
So, I think I am going to order a new bearing and a valeo clutch kit, and ship it to a shop out there for repair, then fly out and drive it back in a couple weeks.
Anywho, was curious if there are any seals which would be easy to have the shop change while they are in there?
Thanks much... Ugh...

If it's actually not just a bad Slave Cylinder, and you end up doing a clutch...
Rear Main & Transmission seal, possible drive axle seals. (but they usually are fine)
Whether it's bad or not, send a Slave Cylinder, well used Slave Cylinders tend to not seal anymore after removed. OEM is suggested.
