My first choice would be a car with the mechanicals very similar to what we now have, but with the body style of the ACV30 1997 concept car. Adjustable and a little stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, 225-240 horsepower. If they built this I’d sell my MCS.
Second choice would be the Speedster roadster with adjustable and a little stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, 225-240 horsepower. If they built this I’d sell my Z3.

I think the Speedster (available in hardtop & soft-top options) would be a cool addition to the MINI family.
But I don't understand why anyone would want a MINI SUV crossover....aren't SUV's prized for their ground clearance and bigness (big cargo space, big towing capacity...and big gas bill!)?? That runs counter to the whole MINI aesthetic - a well-built, nimble small car that's a hoot to drive and doesn't cost $100 to fill up at the gas pump. Catering to the slavering horde simply doesn't make sense.

Hi All,
It's interesting that I stumbled upon this thread today as I just received a phone call from a research company tonight inviting me to participate in a research study sponsored by MINI. They claim that MINI wants me to take a look at future models of their cars and give them my opinions about the design, etc. (I've done these types of surveys quite a few times before, but it has always been for American cars). I'm totally jazzed as I'm sure that I'll get to see what the upcoming 2007 model MINI is going to look like (or something close to it anyway). They even hinted at the possibility of a test drive for a limited number of folks, but they weren't very forthcoming with the details. And... If that's not enough, they're going to pay me $100 for my time. How cool is that! I'd certainly do it for free, but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I voted for the wagon as an S version would be a nice replacement for my current go-fer car... None of the others really look all that great.
BUT - what I've been wishing for since 2002 is an MCS LTW.... and I'm still confused as to why MINI hasn't built one... enthusiasts have been clammoring for a light-weight version of the MCS since the car was first released... and it seems obvious that the MC40 package kinda missed the mark...

I also wouldn't buy any of the above list.
While the AWD, higher powered version would be nice, I probably wouldn't buy it either because the price would approach or exceed that of the other cars that are doing it better already.
What I would buy is a mini minus about 500lbs. I don't care what they have to do to pull it off.... (as long as it didn't mean less power)
I would also buy a "chopped" mini. I'm 6'4" and I still have tons of room above my head. The car's needlessly tall.

Too bad those Hummer "H2" won't be able to make the same claim -
Isn't hydrogen a diatomic anyways? Who owns the rights to the Periodic Table of the Elements?

Maybe the Moke for a fun weekender, in the vein of the old VW powered Dune Buggies, and the Speedster doesn't look all bad, but I don't see the draw of a 2-seat MINI - there are any number of good 2-seaters out there (Miata, S2K, Boxster, etc) that I'd have in my garage if I didn't have kids to haul around.
Either way, I don't see MINI doing any of these, except something bigger and heavier. . .it's the way of the world. . .

http://whitecastle.com/_pages/menu.asp (home of the slider - keeping emissions elevated throughout the midwest since the 1920's - all those flatulent cows deserve a break)
I have more bicycles than you can shake a gearshift lever at.
I wonder how fun it would be to zoom around a velodrome, in an MCS!
