I don't think you need to login to Instagram to see the photo by the link above.

The links worked the first time I clicked but I accidentally closed it and now can't go back to see the rest. I'll try again another time.

I meant to ask - how was installing your engine with the transmission still in the car?

I took my engine and transmission out as a unit and going back in was a huge PITA. I think it would have been easier if I had not had the accessory drive pulley's and crank pulley on the engine already.

First of all, mine is automatic tranny, i.e. the only thing attached to the engine is a thin automatic flywheel. It won't work with the manual tranny with the fat flywheel and clutch attached.
Secondly, it didn't have the vibration damper pulley or anything else installed on another side of the block.
The fact that it was a short block also helped, I guess, but I think it is still possible to install the long block the same way.
Finally, I had to unbolt the tranny's mount (and support it from the underneath) to be able to wiggle it a bit.

Yes, when I pulled my powertrain, it was the short block with the transmission. That was pretty uneventful.

It was when I put it back in as a long block that was frustrating - ended up breaking my shift cable bracket. Probably would have been easier if I had the subframe off the car but I had to leave it on so that I could push it in and out of the shop. My dealership (likely, most shops) would not appreciate a techs personal car tying up a lift during working hours.
