Anybody had luck installing some Recaro Profi SPG XLs in a R53?

As the title says has anybody seen or have fitted Recaro SPG XL Profi in a R53?

I had the good fortune to sit in some of these seats recently (in a different car) and they felt great. Doing a search though, I can't find anything on anyone installing them in a MINI. Perhaps too large? I notice Brey Krause make a custom seat mount for Recaro Pole Position for the MINI. The Pole Position is a tad smaller than the SPG XLs. and the harness holes are a tad low for tall guys (6'4") I will probably give Brey Krause a call but thought I would try here first. Thanks in advance.

I guess to complete the circle, I ordered the SPG XL and they fit perfect with the above Brey Krause seat mounts onto the factory sliders. No interference with door panel or center tunnel either. Head room about the same. Works for me (6'4") with a helmet anyway. Hope this can help someone else.

Can you get measurements of the base width and height ect of the seats and then go measure the car ? I'm have just ebay seats and they're pretty thin as far as bolstering and padding and the fit is so tight the seat adjuster sits almost rite up against the lower door frame rail with like 1mm to spare , lol.

You could try but the geometry of the seats vs the door cards and tunnel may surprise you. The ideal way would be to find someone who's done it.

true , you have to account for how high they will sit with the sliders and adapters and take a measurement and add in alittle for error just encase.Mine I mounted directly down , no sliding and custom made mount but they happen to mount in EXACTLY for someone my height so I got lucky..I'm 5'10.
they sit much lower than stock but I LOVE how low they sit as it just feels so much better.

JB: Could you post some pics please? I just want to dream about what my car would look like with these seats installed. I'm also 6'4", so that makes me doubly curious.

Sorry, never saw the question. Here’s a pic though if you are still dreaming or for anyone else interested
