Post Curb Collision - Camber issue and engine rattle?
I replaced all the obvious bent pieces parts and the wheel is back where it belongs! Needs an alignment and the steering wheel is off about 45 degrees.
Question I have is, the side that impacted has too little camber (close to zero), could that be in the inner ball joint bent? The knuckle is a thicc boi and doesn't appear to be affected. Subframe looks good as well. Also, I have the support plates under the shock towers and those look fine as well. Struts look straight and seem to work fine.
Other question, is there a way to check if the dreaded engine rattle is the chain guides or supercharger without blindly taking them apart. I replaced the chain tensioner and belt tensioner/idler/belt and I just have a feeling with my luck, when I crank it, its going to still rattle. Before removing the valve cover I'd like to know I'm going in the right direction.
Replaced the ball joints (lower inner and outer) both were bad but neither were bent. I pulled the knuckle, it was also straight. Bilstein strut, not so much. Bent quite a bit where it meets the knuckle. New one.on the way.
For the rattle, I had just replaced both tensioners (belt and chain). Decided since I'm waiting on a strut to go ahead and pull the valve cover.
As you can see in the vid, the chain was loose. Rails looked fine. Pulled the brand new tensioner and it failed to open and apply tension. It was only about an 1/8th out. Aggravating but not ad aggrevating as replacing an SC.
