Hey everyone,
I'm new here, hoping to join the ranks of North American R53 owners. As I'm sure many of you know, currently buying a used car is basically a contact sport. I've run into a few dead ends so, desperate times etc etc.
There is a promising looking R53 in the Tulsa metro. I am a couple states away and the dealership doesn't take refundable deposits to hold. Are there any members in the area who might be willing to take a look at car before I commit to the risky drive down? We could arrange some compensation for your time. I know this is a long-shot plan with many risks, but hey, I've tried everything else!
As introduction, I'm new to R53 fandom. I sold my beloved FJ80 Land Cruiser a couple months ago, and my stepfather generously loaned me his 2005 R53 to drive until I found my next car. The plan was a Gen 2 Subaru Outback, but frankly, I'm having too much fun in the MINI. I've been doing my research and ready to buy the right car, hopefully a nice R53!
Thanks for your consideration!

Solid, man. Solid.
Thanks so much for being willing to look! Unfortunately in it time it took for my post to get approved the car sold, according to the dealer. I got a bad feeling anyway when the VIN provided by the dealer matched to a CARFAX of a completely different car. When I asked about it, he got annoyed and told me it's not his fault if CARFAX was wrong.
I'm still looking, but I'll post a wanted in the classifieds. Thanks again!

I saw a 2005 MCS on facebook and I had been messaging with the seller las week. The car is listed as being in Katy Texas. He has had it for sale for 6 weeks ? Asking $9,000 obo. It looks pretty well cared for. I ran a carfax on it. One owner 44k miles, manual, Chili Red, with white top and panoroof with union jack flag. Nice guy named Nelson. PM me your email and I will send you the carfax. I passed as it is 1,800 miles from me. I would have bought it if I lived closer.
