Permanent starting problem

Hi. My 2006 R50 with automatic steptronic transmission have a weird starting problem. When I put the key at first position, all dash lights and indicators seems to be ok, but when move the key to the second position, appear a clicking noise (4 or 5 fast click relay noise) at two points: fuse box located at drivers kick panel, and engine fuse box. When this happen, the starter works, but the car wont start. Each time I remove and reconnect the battery terminal with the key at on position, the clicking noise start to dissapear with less number of clicks, so when disconect the battery 4 or 5 times, the car start without any problems. Then, if I turn off the engine, and try to start again inmediately, it will start, but if I left the engine off some minutes, the problem come back again. Any ideas? I will make a video of the problem, to see if anyone knows whats wrong with the car. Thanks.

What is your battery voltage? Sounds like a weak battery or maybe a loose connection

Agree with Minifenrir. I would start by checking (remove and clean) the ground cables, your battery terminals could be bad as well.

Clicking is usually a solenoid or relay. So, you could have a bad relay to the starter. But, it sounds like the power is getting cut to the relay and that's why its making a clicking noise.

And, I'd also have the starter checked.
