The Italian Job

OK. Who knew that the three Minis used in the tunnel scenes in the movie "The Italian Job" were actually converted to electric? Evidently city officials would not let them used gasoline engines in the enclosed tunnel space due to fumes and electric conversion was the solution. These were the very first electric Minis ever produced. And, these Minis were actually driven by the actors, not stunt doubles. Very cool.
