Wheel Stud Conversion (Tips/Advice)

About to start my wheel stud conversion. Never done it, seems very straight forward. What is everyone using for thread locker? Everywhere I look others use blue. Based on the side of the size, it calls for red .
Anyone with experience feel free to chime in with any words of wisdom.

Ordered my parts from ECS to make things simple. Customer service was awesome. Went with ES#2960513

Blue is fine.

You could have amazoned everything and saved yourself $50.

If you have a 2006, verify the actual bolt size. Mid year they went from 12mm to 14mm, ask me how I know.

I installed my studs without thread locker. The thread locker just makes it so the stud won't come out when you loosen the nuts. Your studs look like they have an allen wrench drive on the end and a seating shoulder? Snug them up into the hubs and you'll be fine. When you torque down your nuts, the whole assembly pulls together and its not going anywhere.

I think the switch was mid-July? I have an August build car with hubs drilled for 14 mm bolts, and I'm running a 14 mm to 12 mm set of studs to fit my current wheels.

that's one way to do it.

I opted to have the 12mm hubs installed all around. No more guesswork.

7/2006 was the switch over. Most people use blue as a precaution. Thanks for the order.

My JCW is an 03. Just checked the fitment, and I'm good to go. Going to use the orange, as it's the only large tube/bottle I have left

The switchover was in July, so it should be the M12x1.5. You can always pull a lug bolt and measure to see if it's that or the M14x1.25.

+1 ^ 7/2006+ has the M14 and up to 7/2006 has the M12.
