interior door handle trim keeps falling off

In the grand scheme of things this is pretty small but I finally had enough of the passenger side door handle trim falling off so I decided to try and figure out what was going on. None of the trim snap tabs are broken and when you insert the trim, it seems to snap into place just fine. Unfortunately when you pull on the handle the trim interferes with the door handle and the door handle pops the trim loose. I tried adding a washer to move the door handle mechanism out but that did not fix the problem. If I had thinker washers on hand, I would have tried that but that will have to be next time. Has anyone else run into this issue and resolved it?
Take Care

I know this is an old thread but wondering if you ever found a fix?
I'm having the same issue and can't justify spending $120 for a new cover when mine doesn't even have broken tabs or anything. Honestly if I don't find a fix I'm about to just glue it into place and hope I don't need to disassemble the door anytime soon.

Ryaaannn,
If your going to go with glue, (personally, I would), - Might I recommend a flexible glue. Specifically
E6000 adhesive. E6000 adhesive.
You can also find it at your local Home Depot.

If you haven't ever used it - E6000 is an awesome product. When cured -This stuff is flexible but strong. I highly suggest applying just a small amount (a dot) between the joining contact area/surface(s). This glue cures relatively quickly in a fair amount of time.
Although superior adhesion and strong - In the event you have to remove the object for repairs; a flexible adhesive would be more forgiving and easier to remove without / or less damage. Just don't use too much. Unless you're looking for a permanent bond.

Just a thought.
