So I been tossing around the idea of fitting in a scoop in the front of the hood so it would directly ram the air through that intake hose onto the filter . Has anybody seen this done or has done it ? If so any pics and info you have would be appreciated..
I could use something like I pictured below and run my own tuube then and I cooooooould ram that into the front of the filter then too.

There's a cool Dutch guy named Martijn who cut some proper retro-style holes.

I diggit, but can't bring myself to do it on my car, maybe one day perhaps.

The R53 is really well setup to use an intake that draws cold air through the cowl, that's the route I went.

I modded the panel behind the filter already and opened up the whole area back there already and then I looked into making a cowl scoop but it is harder than I thought to find something to fit and work with looking good.makes me wish again I had a 3d printer and the only other ones i found for sale were a set of carbon fiber scoop inserts at 160$ though and i almost bought them but reviews were terrible so i passed and got a carbon fiber hood scoop instead.
I dont like the idea of just cutting a hole in the hood UNLESS I found the perfect trim ring and use the same exact pattern as my grill has on my car now so it matches. Or I could add one of those carbon fiber brake duct scoops, cut it to fit and I would have to trim out some sheet metal on the back side of the hood too for more direct air and I might then make a different tune into the intake.
