R50/53 Body Control Module question
Body Control Module question
Hello,
I have a mini cooper s 2006. The car was parked in an area where a flood happened and some water got into the car from the passenger side. Thank god there was no damage except that the passenger window wouldn't work.
I changed the window regulator and still didn't work, I was told maybe the problem is in the switch so I changed it and still the same problem going, the window can go up but won't go down. Then I found out that the problem a 100% is from the body control module and it made sense because it's located exactly where there was water from the flood.
Now I want to replace the BCM but I was wondering if I need to go to the car dealership to reprogram it, does anyone have an idea? because I was planning on getting a used BCM. please help if anyone knows or have an experience in that. Thank you

You can buy an used one, but must have same part number. No need to pair, is plug and play.If intend to avoid a dealer visit to reprogram in case the donor car have other specs than yours(presence of xenon, sun roof, fog lights, different AC type)you can use INPA cable and NCSExpert sw to recode BCM to your car specs.A new one is around 500$.Used one is cheap.
