8 Extra 13 mm Bolts GUESS the bolt

I'm wrapping up a clutch R&R and have everything almost back together. However I have 8 long bolts left over 13 mm with blue thread lock on them, and can not find where they go back to. Any help would be appreciated. The bolts say Atlas on them. I'm thinking 4 per side of car.

Sorry. I can't identify them; however, I would guess they go to something important. Maybe the original pressure plate bolts and you got replacement bolts with the new one.

They look like M8, not 13. So I assume you are referring to the size of the wrench used on them. Also, they are rated as 12.9 grade so they are very high strength. Curiously, they are also full thread which is odd for 12.9 fasteners unless there is a need to thread all the way down.

The dark blue on the last 10mm of thread is a Locktite kind of thread locker that car companies use so I wouldn't guess they are from an aftermarket vendor. Also the light blue finish is a German auto manufacturer thing. Some sort of corrosion resistant finish. Some bolt companies do supply metric bolts in blue as a metric identifier but those are typically deeper blue in color.

Hope this helps your quest,
Peter

In case you can't tell, I love fasteners.

So to add more detail from your pictures, most M8 fasteners have a 1.25mm pitch but those look like a rare fine thread with a 1mm pitch. Not common at all. That fine thread and the built-in flanges makes me think even more that they go to a pressure plate or something with very high stress.

Enjoying myself looking at bolts, Ha!

I have a complete Valeo clutch kit here waiting to be installed. Want me to check what's in the box?

Based on my review of the bolts in my Valeo box, what you show is neither flywheel nor pressure plate.

Those are the the stock flywheel to crankshaft bolts. So I hope you installed an aftermarket flywheel and bolts, otherwise you a missing some bolts.

Correct! What a relief. After market bolts installed.
