R53 Fuel Pipe Replacement - Rubber part

Been a lurker here for a few months... just got round to creating an account. I've already used a bunch of tips from this website so thanks to all for that. I didn't find an answer to this one.

I've figured out that to replace the fuel pipe you have to do the whole run & drop the back of the subframe but I also red a thread here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...placement.html about some possibly fittings to allow you to cut that pipe off & replace the rubber part only. That seems way easier to me if it's possible....

Does anyone have any more info on that?

I found the Dormann catalog here - https://static.dormanproducts.com/do...qd_catalog.pdf which looks like it should have parts that will work but hoping for some guidance.

It's a 2005 - R53 (unfortunately without the LSD, too early), 97k pretty much full dealer up to 82k (would a dealer be able to give me a printout as I only have the last couple?) and then random garages for oil changes & a new clutch since. Totally stock.

I'm gradually working my way through a list of jobs... just replaced the radiator support assembly & some of the bumper assembly that was cracked and added some strut tops from Way Motors (the 1.25 degree ones) and put a new head unit in it. Changed the trans fluid with MTL whilst I was under it and done rotors & pads all round. Replaced the O ring for the knock sensor as it looks like it had been leaking for a while. New Air filter because I was in there to replace the Intake pipe that showed some cracking. New Intercooler boots coming too as they are cracked (the Alta ones). Weird that the right side is cracked but the left looks fine. The belt, pulley etc looks good at the moment but I may add that tensioner "stop" from Alta at some point & fit an SFI pulley before too many more miles goes on.

Luckily it had a new Power steering pump & fan etc at a late recall at 82k.

On my shortlist of near term jobs other than the fuel pipe is a fuel filter change, brake flush, supercharger oil change and then a refresh of the drop links & ball joints / driveshafts. I could see one side is getting tired when I did my strut tops. Weird that the other side (passenger) looks much newer - wonder if the dealer history will show a replacement.
Am I missing anything obvious (other than an oil & filter change..)

I'll be contacting Peabody Mini for a 2nd key after a tip here so maybe I'll ask them if I can get a history at the same time.

I'm down in Southern California.

Cheers,

Dan
