So I’m at a red light.. Turns green ..shift to first... step in the clutch and attempt to shift to second then I suddenly hear a loud bang as if I hit a lot hole.
the shifter and clutch start shaking hard, I immediately start thinking the worst I THREW A ROD.
I was able to pull over and I just see oil running under the car.
Got it towed so I didn’t cause any more damage.
once home i started looking for a hole In the block.. nothing... checked the head gasket.. no oil leak..
the dipstick was low so I picked up a quart.
I turn the key and she starts right up.
Clutch feels normal shifts into every gear fine.
let her run for 20 min and nothing leaked.
Got it jacked up and can only see leakage from the power steering pump.
could it be anything else??
what should I look for.

Sounds like something broke / popped. While still on jacks maybe pull both wheels and start looking for broken, disconnected, worn, loose suspension / steering components. Tie rods, control arms, struts / towers, sway bar, all bushings, ball joints etc. Carefully turn the wheel lock to lock and look/feel for anything weird happening in the linkage.

How low did the PS fluid level get?

Also, any recent maintenance done under the hood (bonnet) or under the car?

PS fluid was at about %70
Most recent maintenance was 3 months ago for an oil change at 153,000 Miles.

could it be the transmission?
Is there an easy way to check the transmission oil since we don’t have dipsticks.

Unlikely as the cause of your problem but easy enough to check; you can see it done in
.

Also, check CV axles and joints.

This is unrelated to power steering... but one time when I heard a loud bang and fluid start pouring out and smoking... it was my coolant tank popped! check that..
