Heated washer nozzles?

My car has the cold weather package so it has the heated windshield washer nozzles and am curious how they work. I recently replaced both of mine and has wires coming from them so is the washer fluid heated right there? It doesn’t seem to be enough time to heat up enough to make a difference??

It heats the nozzles to keep them from freezing closed when not actually spraying the windshield. The antifreeze in the windshield washer fluid doesn’t always keep the nozzles from freezing closed without the extra heat.

Yes this really is a thing, and a part of the cold weather package, just don't remember if it was a facelift only option and if they were triggered by the freezing temp warning or the rear defroster like the heated mirrors.
