Brake bleeding 2005 mcs r53

Gents, quick question, when doing a standard brake bleeding, is inpa (or other) needed to actuate the abs pump?

Or will standard presure bleeding suffice?

going to try and get it done tomorrow but I don’t have inpa working yet for the mini

NO you don't need to activate the ABS to bleed the brakes. You only need to activate it if you are replacing the ABS unit itself

Do you have to worry about the old fluid in the pump when changing the brake fluid, or is the amount not significant enough??

with the car off and ABS not active the valves are in a neutral position. So when you bleed the brakes it flows through the ABS. Sure there is still some in their that you won't get every drop out, but not any to be concerned with. Hell even on my race car I just do a normal bleed and don't activate the pump to bleed the brakes, so for a street car it's more than fine.

Incorrect. You DO...need to activate the ABS to get ALL of the old fluid out.. Drive it a few miles, then check the fluid color...it'll be dark if you DON'T flush both sides of the system.
Been their..!
Simple...just read the manual..!
