Dash lights won't dim or brighten
Dash lights won't dim or brighten
I have a 2005 R52 with the chrono package. The orange backlighting on gauges and the LED odometer/air temperature/clock/fuel economy/etc. displays are supposed to dim and brighten with a button above and left of the center gauge cluster. I bought this car used last year, and the whole time it has been really hard for me to read the LED numerical displays in daylight, especially with the top down. No amount of clicking or holding that button seems to change the brightness for me.
Everything else works great.
Anyone had this issue, any clue where to start? Can I remove and test that button without removing the whole dash?

Ok, never mind. It works, but I didn't realize how it works. The dimmer only sets the brightness when the headlights are on. When the headlights are off, everything that's on is at full brightness, which is just inadequate on sunny days with the top down.
