R50/53 R53 competitive in STX?
R53 competitive in STX?
Recently purchased a '06 MCS, luckily it had a handful of mods that we were already going to do to the car (smaller pulley, rear sway bar, exhaust).
Was curious how competitive the R53 is in STX still... I know the twins (FRS/BRZ) are the cars to beat, but it seems at nationals the R53 is struggling to not be dead last. Are others having the same luck or is there a better class for the R53 to run in?

I have given up trying to compete in STX with my R53 JCW. I'm partially to blame for that (there are much better drivers than me at the local and regional level competing in STX) but the R53 is at a disadvantage when competing against the RX8 and FRS/BRZ. I removed my rear seat and installed a rear seat delete kit. That places me in SMF. I competed at a regional event two weekends ago and finished first in SMF among 7 or 8 cars in RAW time and finished third in PAX for all street modified (around 25 drivers). Not bad.
