Pre Facelift R53 - Post Facelift hydraulic mount?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if I can replace my pre facelift mount with the post facelift upper hydraulic mount. Has anyone done this?

Thanks guys

I think the large U-shaped engine bracket is different also. I have an early '04 R53 and a late '06 R52 JCW, I'm not sure if you can just swap out the main engine mount alone

I am quite sure it can be done. You will need to acquire the u-shape passenger side engine mount aluminium bracket for the "face lifted" car, in order to use the later year engine mount. The chassis of earlier years already have the bolt hole and captive nut to accept the revised engine mount.

Not a good idea as the facelift mount is an even worse design. Get the Vibratechnics.....

VIbra-tehcnics is good if you don't mind the added NVH. I've had it on mine for about three years, and I'm switching back to the oem facelift one soon... doing way more daily commute than track days recently. Just have to accept that it may fail at some point.

Thanks everyone, I'm going to stick to the pre facelift OEM mount.
