facelift HU into pre-facelift?

Hey everyone. I had a quick question for you. I have an 04 MCS and I have the HK system. I know the facelift cars can play mp3 cds but I tried this in my car yesterday and it didnt work. Is there anyway I can get a facelift HK HU for my car? Will it plug right in and play MP3 cds then? Thanks for any help.

Hi fensty245,

I would recommend searching looking at the Market place here, or on Ebay for a new head unit. You are looking for a unit from late 2005 or preferably 2006 year. It is a straight forward switch out. Basically plug n play with hand tools.

When i did this, the headunit i found was from 2006. Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tommy

Yep, plug and play. I put one in my '03 build '04.
The easiest visual clue is the volume ****, which is larger and knurled, vs. the 'pencil eraser sized' earlier models.
