switch for driving lights question

i added driving lights to my 05 and need to wire and add a switch
i know where the OEM driving light switch goes but would prefer to add first to the row of toggle switches as there is one missing now and it looks a little odd that way
was wondering if anyone has had any luck adding a switch there, my missing switch is where the rear fog light switch would go

what are the options for "adding" a switch there and using it for the front driving lights
i understand the usual way to get that extra switch is to buy the whole set and thats ok unless there is a clever way to just add one
and also not sure if that switch function could be used successfully for the front driving lights as it is wired from the factory

thanks

the toggle switch bang are not your traditional electrical switches. they are soft switches. the challenge to try to repurpose or modify it is like trying to modifying a computer keyboard to switch your driving lights. it can be done with the right knowledge and skills but would you?

thanks, for reply, was thinking possibly the rear fog switch could be used as is to trigger the front driving lights, possibly be running wire from the rear foglight output to a relay for the front driving lights?

it is feasible. The rear fog light is switch by an IC in the BCM but you certainly can add a relay to it.

Not sure if you can tap the wire somewhere closer to the dash or BCM, but the plug for the rear fog should be right above the exhaust tips, behind the black plate where the the pre-facelift backup light is located.

There’s also a factory extension harness to move the driving light switch to the blank spot in the center console opposite the tire pressure monitor reset switch. It’s only $2.50, but it’s on back order now: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...s/61120412968/
