You could always try a nice set of wires (not huge on the performance but it could be something and they look cool!)

Just be aware of possible water pump damage (pump is spinning faster due to smaller pulley) from using the aftermarket pulley. Though a rare side effect, it does happen. Have the dealer quote you a price to have a new water pump installed on your Mini and you may reconsider! This repair will NOT be covered under your 4 year/50K warranty (BMW repairs are pricey!)

How about $120 worth of NAM bucks. Enough merch. to keep him smilin' for awhile.
I could probably come up with a good size list of things under $120 to get by looking through my Moss MINI catalogue.
Cheers,

Should this be a sticky?
Good suggestion, E_A! I'll sticky this through the holiday season!

It's a bit more than $100.00, but a weekend at the track for driver's school- for both of you- is money well spent. It always pays to upgrade the nut behind the wheel! It also makes for good "parental bonding" time!

short antennae- local source

Another option for short antennas:

Go to your Honda dealer, and ask for part # 39151-S2H-E01. This was originally intended to fit either the S2000 or the Element, but fits a MINI perfectly. I paid about $25.00 for mine, including tax.

pyrometer (the other sort!)

One could also check the temperature of their brake rotors, whatever.
Oh- you mean that sort of pyrometer! I was thinking of:

http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...&Ntt=pyrometer

to measure exhaust gas temps. Since the A/F ratio is electronically controlled, there's not much need for that in a MINI though, unless you're running Nitrous!

K here are the pics of the side markers and the lights I posted about.

Side Markers (or repeater or whatever its called):

Blue LED Lights (this is actually Lagston's Car in this pic):

The other bulbs I posted are replacements for the blinker. They are silver when they are not illuminated but they are amber when you turn the blinker on. Moss sells them here:

http://mossmini.com/Shop/ViewProduct...eIndexID=43230

But if you follow the link I gave you will save like $17... $20 is rediculous for a pair of bulbs!

At today's prices, $100 in gas would be a stocking stuffer! It would fit in a pint jar!

if u are gonna order him something for 100-120, then you need to just order it from mossmini.com, as when u order over 100, u get a free aluminum stubby antenna! (or other cool things for free...check out their site)...

i'd say the saddlebag (to store car detailing items) or the euro parcel shelf (to hold his wallet, badge, phone, etc while driving) are good bets at around 100...the chrome door cups are nice as well (keep from scratching paint with keys/rings/fingernails/etc)...

Clover,
My wfie used to work at a place that sold Garmin things and we bought an older version. The street pilot 3. We love it, used it yesterday to find something. We also use it to 'play' when we are just tooling around. I also bought an adapter for my motorcycle. Works great there, can't hear what she says, but it works okay. Maybe on eBay the older units are still out there for sale?
When I get our new Mini, I have to figure out a way to install it. I have the dash pad that we can carry from car to car right now. have to see if it will work on the new dash?

not to be too picky, but that's a Bulldog. thus the whole MINI "wide bulldog stance" thing

oh yeah, and that commercial with the bulldog sniffing the tail pipe of a MINI. (which my friends did when I brought it home from the dealer)

The bean bag dash mount w/ the SP3 works great as long as you aren't having too much fun If you aren't careful it will:

1. Fly out the window.
or
2. Attack your steering wheel.
