r56 brake conversion question

converting r53 front brakes to "r56". 294mm brake package from an 08 cooper s hatchback. that would work yes?

everything i look up says "r56" is almost a 10 year run... thats a big gap. just wanna make sure what i have a line on will work and im not wasting my time and money.

Yes. The R56 S brakes were the R53 JCW brake package.

yes the "The R56 S brakes were the R53 JCW brake package." or yes this particular set of brakes "294mm brake package from an 08 cooper s hatchback" will work?

im just now realizing how frustrating the practice of referring to a car by its chassis code is. i do this all the time when working with japanese cars but i never intended to need to know this info about a mini cooper... yet here we are. all i want is to make sure im ordering from the correct year before i waste time and money.

Oh, it is even more fun than that as BMW/MINI numbers their engines too.

The answers are Yes and Yes. The R56 S brakes will work in your car and they are also the same as the R53 JCW brakes (just without the red color and the JCW logo on them).

thanks i appreciate it... like i said i get the idea but its just hard when you are in foreign territory... i used to work for a company that did some bmw stuff but it was mostly e46 m3 s54 stuff and then a little e9X n54 stuff... so i get it but i have always lived the jdm stuff... i had a small niche carved out just for the e46 stuff and a little bit of e30 stuff from a friends build... but never put a sideways glance at mini stuff until this car happened to me.
