P1688 & P0107, DSC Light on, limp mode, already replaced damper
Still having problems. Originally got the P1688-P0107 combo, and replaced my crankshaft pulley with an ATI SuperDamper (and while I had the car up, did an oil change and replaced the manual transmission fluid with MTL Redline). Took the car out after that, and the DSC light came on solid (not blinking) and stayed on 10 minutes into the ride. It cleared after turning the car off, but came back on. This might have happened before I got the original P1688, too, but my memory's not perfect. I put the car back up today and checked that I didn't mangle the wheel sensor during the install of the damper. It looked ok.
So, today, I swapped out the serpentine belt, too. Car started fine and revved smoothly. Double checked belt was on all the wheels correctly. Ran the car for 10 seconds (sounded nice!) before I realized I'd left the fuel tank vent valve hoses unplugged. Plug those back in and took the car out. Made it two minutes before it went to limp mode, and showed the MINI trifecta of lights. Turned it off and back on, and was down to just the SES light. The scangauge showed me a P1688 code again (no corresponding P0107). I motored a little further, and on an upshift, I got the DSC light stuck on again. Continued driving to home, and felt the occasional power hiccup or minor jolt.
What should be my next diagnostic steps?

A little (lot of) googling suggested a MAP sensor could be the shared culprit (along with a weak battery as another suggestion). I pulled the MAP from the front of the engine and while the o-rings looked fine, the plastic shroud that holds the plug had crumbled. The plug came off suspiciously easily which could coincide with my hypothesis that the codes were thrown at the time of inertial change, either hitting a highway bump or shifting. I pluegfed it back in and was able to drive an hour and a half on a mix of roads, speeds and accelerations, without a repeat. I taped it together with electrical tape and will order another sensor.
Some followups: is there another MAP sensor, and where?
and I noticed that my Scangauge can report MAP in real-time. I saw readings from 1.3 while engine braking in second, to 27.9 under spirited acceleration. What should I expect to see if the problem repeats and it’s the MAP sensor? Zero? And if there two sensors, can I see readings from both on my Scangauge?

Thanks! To add for future googlers: it’s running fine with the MAP sensor duct taped in place while I wait for the part. Definitely caused by the upstream MAP sensor and definitely caused by hitting bumps, shifting gears, etc. it was simply losing the connection to the sensor because the plug no longer clipped securely into the sensor.
I was was going to replace the damper anyway, so no loss throwing parts at it.

JA,
Are they the exact same part number? As I replaced the 'MAP' near the air intake. But not the 'TMAP' sensor under the intercooler. and still getting P0107 and P1688 Codes.with limp mode.
Thanks!
